Dog Training Private Lessons
If you're not sure if your dog needs training or behavioural help don't worry - you get both at the same time with Christina.
Christina has a LOT of experience helping dogs and their people with a wide range of training and behavioural issues. From puppy training, to behaviour cases, sports dog training to settling rescue dogs into their new homes to mention just a few. Over the years she's discovered just how important it is for EVERY trainer or behaviourist to have a good working knowledge and experience of training to a very high standard (so everything pet dogs are going to need feels really easy to train in comparison to international competition training!) behaviour modification (to fully understand dogs, why they do what they do, and how best to help them whilst avoiding 'quick fixes' that often makes things FAR worse in the long run and ruin relationships between dogs and their people,) and body language (to read and communicate back to them in a way they understand.) (This combination of skills is relatively rare as many trainers or behaviourists specialise making them good at one element but not necessarily all of them.) She's also discovered just how important it is that the dog's people feel understood, supported, helped and coached. In fact, being kind to both dogs AND people was what her first dog training centre was built around 21 years ago (quite a revolutionary idea at the time!!!)

Behaviour cases have included amongst other things - On-lead 'reactivity' (lunging or barking,) all types of aggression (dog to dog, other animal or human, including visitors to the home, and quite a lot of resource guarding,) separation anxiety, general anxiety, prey drive, car chasing, pulling people over, 'lack of manners' (leaping about, throwing themselves at dogs or people, not listening, etc.)
Methods
Training is reward-based and aims to teach dogs to enjoy co-operating with their people, and people to understand and enjoy their dogs. For more info about Christina's background, training, and methods used please see 'About'
Prices
These depend on many factors including location, whether you'd like a one off lesson or whether you're really needing on-going coaching and support, and the sort of support you're needing which will also take into account whether you're needing help with training or behavioural issues.
Note - following an increase in serious behaviour cases in the last few years Christina is not taking on any more cases involving severe aggression or separation anxiety. These cases have taken up a lot of her time and she is currently taking a break from them.
What Next?
For more details please contact Christina - [email protected] including -
- Whether you'd like online or in-person lessons / coaching. In-person is near Sleaford, (Lincolnshire) or Spilsby (Lincolnshire.)
- Your dog's age and breed
- What type of help you would like and any issues you may be having
- When you are available for sessions (weekday daytime or evenings. Please note that weekends are usually unavailable due to other commitments.)
Christina will work out what sort of help she feels would be best for you and your dog (she may give you a ring to have a quick chat to get some more details) and will put together a plan and a price for you. You are then really welcome to decide whether or not to go ahead, and only after that point will any payment be taken.
Note - For various types of training you are very welcome to have a one off lesson and then decide if you would like more regular coaching, however because behavioural help is more of a journey from where you are now to where you and your dog want to get to together, this will always come as a package that is tailored to the level of support she feels you need. If your dog needs behavioural help they will need a full vet check to rule out any undiagnosed pain as a contributing factor before starting work with Christina (you'd be surprised how often pain can be involved.)
