About Mantrailing - Although Mantrailing is used to search for people in Europe and America, until recently it has been relatively unknown in the UK. Learn to work as a team with your dog as they follow the scent of a specific person through ground tracking and at times also air scenting them.

Common Questions...

My dog's recall is 'iffy', will my dog be off lead? No. In contrast to air scenting where dogs search off lead and are often out of sight, mantrailing dogs are on a harness and line. (You'll find most dogs love it, and it is especially great for working with dogs that often find their noses get them into trouble on walks, for example hounds or some gun dogs, because they can work on a long line and learn to work in partnership with their person.)

My dog hasn't had a lot of training, can they still come? Yes! This workshop assumes no prior knowledge or training.

My dog is worried about other dogs / people, can they still come? Possibly. Dogs and their handlers work one at a time on a trail, however other members of the public will be in the general area with their dogs too. If you're unsure, please ask Christina before booking - [email protected]

My dog is a breed that isn't bred for this, can they still come? Definitely! Most dogs of all breeds love this sport.

My dog is very young / old, can they still come? As long as they are old enough to go out and young enough to be are able to do a 10 minute walk then they'll be fine. (Christina LOVES golden oldies that enjoy special time having fun with their person, at whatever speed they wish to do it.)

Do I need any special equipment? If your dog already has a harness please bring it with you, if not please let us know (there will be a few harnesses to borrow, but they won't cover every shape and size of dog.) You are also welcome to borrow a tracking line if you don't already have one.

Come and give this new, exciting (and useful!) sport a try with your scent trailing expert... your dog!
